Sara Rénélik, aka Luna Taina, is a transformative presence in the world of multidisciplinary art, rooted deeply in the Vodún tradition, which she was initiated into at the Sosyete Dereale Temple in Haiti. A true cultural ambassador, she has graced the stage with some of Haiti’s most iconic artists, including Azor, Eval Manigat, Harold Faustin, Emeline Michel, and Wesli, blending the richness of Haitian heritage with contemporary artistry. Her artistic journey has also led her to global stages, where she worked as both a choreographer and dancer for world-renowned productions, including Cirque du Soleil and Celine Dion, as well as being a part of Debra Brown's electrifying multidisciplinary troup, Line One.
In 2006, Sara launched her debut album Aube, a captivating blend of Folk and Haitian roots music. The album was nominated at the Canadian Folk Music Awards for Best World Music Album. Also, "Laisser Aller", her original opus to nature and birth of a new age, won as SOCAN Best Song at the Maestra Awards, event created to celebrate women in music. Soon after, she relocated to Quisqueya—the shared island of Haiti and the Dominican Republic—where she fully immersed herself in community empowerment through culture. Passionate about preserving and promoting Haiti’s ancestral traditions, Sara became a driving force behind numerous social and cultural initiatives. She played a key role as an Expert of the PCV in the EU Binational Cooperation Program and was a cultural Ambassador representing Canada for the Canadian Embassy of the DR, using the arts to foster peace and unity on the island.
Back in North America, Sara is preparing to unveil her highly anticipated multi-disciplinary project, Milokan nan d’lo, set for release in 2025. Through this work, she continues her mission to celebrate Haitian culture, challenge boundaries, and promote the values so dear to her such as inclusion, harmony, and self-empowerment. She continues to generate encounters between artists and actors of other sectors of society and inspire audiences across the globe.
